Mount Shasta City, 25 mei-29 mei

Wat is er nou zo bijzonder aan Mount Shasta en waarom willen we daar naar toe? Het Shasta gebied verteld verhalen over de holle aarde en spirit wezens die daar zijn. In de tijd dat Atlantis zo’n 12.000 jaar geleden, onder water kwam te staan zijn mensen de aarde in gevlucht. Daar hebben ze zich spiritueel hoog ontwikkeld en wachten erop om weer met aardbewoners aan de buitenkant van de aarde verenigd te worden.

Het dorpje Mount Shasta is verrukkelijk voor spirituele gelukszoekers als wij. Organic food to go, matcha latte, aanplakbiljetten met renew your soul en dergelijk zijn prominent aanwezig. We vinden uit dat in het city park van Mount Shasta de bron van de Sacramento rivier te vinden is. Het bronwater komt regelrecht van Mount Shasta en bezit helende kwaliteiten omdat het nog niet is belast met menselijke emoties. Bijna dagelijks zitten we bij de bron. We zien Amerikanen met jerrycans zeulen om het heilige water mee te vervoeren naar huis. Ook wij vullen onze halve liter flesjes. 

Terwijl we op een zonnige namiddag wat zitten te mijmeren worden we aangesproken door een vrouw die hier al 30 jaar woont maar oorspronkelijk uit Rusland komt. Zij laat ons het feeën paadje zien in een bos wat een sprookje lijkt. Halverwege draait ze zich om en zegt: ‘jij bent een lichtwerker’ en later ‘kom donderdag naar de ecstatic dance bijeenkomst’. Aan het eind huggen we een enorme boom waar we met z’n drieën omheen passen. 

We genieten van het Shasta gebied. Maar het is niet alleen vrolijk. We worden door een soort zware energie geraakt die diepe emotionele lagen raakt. Hier werken we in vier dagen doorheen. Shasta is een proces gebleken van diepe dalen en hoge pieken, van tegenstellingen en doorbraken, van veranderende emotionele structuren. Het bezoekje van vier dagen aan Shasta heeft ons veel gebracht, maar zeker niet wat we ervan verwacht hadden. En nee, we hebben geen anders-soortige wezens waargenomen. En nee we zijn toch niet naar het dansen gegaan.

Mount Shasta City, may 25 - may 29

What is so special about Mount Shasta and why do we want to go there? The Shasta area tells stories about the hollow earth and spirit beings. At the time that Atlantis was flooded about 12,000 years ago, people fled into the earth. There they developed to a high spiritual level and are waiting to be reunited with earthlings on the outside of the earth. The village of Mount Shasta is delightful for spiritual seekers like us. Organic food to go, matcha latte, posters with renew your soul and the like are prominently present. We discovered that the source of the Sacramento River can be found in the city park of Mount Shasta. The spring water comes straight from Mount Shasta and has healing qualities because it has not yet been burdened with human emotions. We sit at the source almost every day. We see Americans lugging jerry cans to transport the holy water home. We also fill our half-liter bottles. 

While we are daydreaming on a sunny afternoon, we are approached by a woman who has lived here for 30 years but is originally from Russia. She shows us the fairy path in a forest that looks like a fairy tale. Halfway through she turns around and says: ‘you are a lightworker’ and later ‘come to the ecstatic dance meeting on Thursday’. At the end we are hugging a huge tree that the three of us fit around. 

We enjoy the Shasta area. But it is not only cheerful. We are sensing a kind of heavy energy that touches deep emotional layers. Our inner emotional work takes four days. Shasta has proven to give us a process of deep valleys and high peaks, of contradictions and breakthroughs, of changing emotional structures. The four-day visit to Shasta has brought us a lot, but certainly not what we expected. And no, we have not seen any other-kind of beings. And no we didn’t go to the ecstatic dancing.
